Energy Management System is a system of computer-aided tools used by operators of electric utility grids to monitor, control, and optimize the performance of the generation and/or transmission system.

Distribution Management System (DMS):
Distribution Management System is an IT system capable of collecting, organizing, displaying, and also analyzing real-time or near real-time electric distribution system information. A DMS also allows operators to plan and execute complex distribution system operations to increase system efficiency and optimize power flows and prevent overloads.

Volt Var management system:
Volt Var Management System is basically optimization system where various distribution system components like substation capacitor bank, LTC xmer, pole mounted capacitor is selected optimally for providing Volt VAr control.

Outage Management System (OMS):
Outage Management System is a restoration system of the electrical power supply after occurrence of a fault and where circuit breakers trip. Prioritizing restoration efforts and managing resources based upon criteria such as locations of emergency facilities, size of outages and duration of outages is a major function of Outage management system.
